What
is the Summer Reading Program
for Children? This summer, all across the United
States, libraries will be providing reading programs for children in order
to help them maintain and hopefully improve their reading and listening
skills over the summer. This coming year the theme is Catch the
Reading Bug. Here at the David A. Howe Library, you and your child
come to the library only once each week (for 6 weeks) at any time or day
we are open (10am-5pm). When the child
comes in, he spins the game wheel to see how many books to check out,
picks out the books, and then spins the game wheel for prizes. If he
comes at least 4 out of the 6 weeks, he can put his name in for the
"big" prizes that will be on display. There will also be various activities at scheduled times (story
times, crafts, etc.) which will be listed in your information packet when
you sign up. This is a very popular program and spaces go quickly,
so sign up early!
