| SPOTLIGHT
ON THE LIBRARY |
|
MARCH 28, 2006
Winter is almost over and spring is right around the corner. This weekend
we will be turning our clocks ahead one hour and the days will become a
little longer. With longer and warmer days comes more energy to get out
and about. The best way to burn some of that energy is by coming into the
library for some great programs.
This Tuesday, April 4 at 7pm the library will be hosting a nature
program called Bird Prowl. Johneta Wilson from Wild Thing
Rehabilitation Center will visit the library to teach all family members
about the wonderful life of birds. Ms. Wilson will talk about her role as
a bird naturalist and how she works with birds to ensure their survival in
the wild. She will also bring in some of her close bird friends for
everyone to meet. Registration is required for this program, as seating is
limited. Please call the library at 593-3410 for details.
On Thursday, April 6 at 7pm the library will be having a book
discussion on Dan Brown’s best selling book The Da Vinci Code.
Participants are asked to read the book before attending in order to make
the evening interesting for everyone. Those interested in attending
should register for the discussion by calling the library at 593-3410.
The Wellsville Art Association will host its annual Seven County Art
Show in the library Exhibition Room from March 30 through April 21. On
Thursday, April 6 at 7pm the Art Association will hold a reception for the
public to view the show and meet some of the artists. Registration is not
required for the reception.
Computer classes will be held at the library on Monday, April 10 and
Monday, April 17. Both classes start at 7pm.
The April 10th class will focus on finding books and materials on the
library’s web catalog. The April 17th class will deal with building
document structures from scratch using Microsoft software. Patrons are
asked to register for these classes by calling the library at 593-3410. |

| The library is still accepting
donations for this year’s annual book sale. The library relies on book sale
proceeds to purchase new books for the library’s collection. Please
call the library if you have used or new books, video, DVDs, audio books or
musical compact discs you would like to donate. As always the library
appreciates your generosity.
In addition to donating used books and materials, you may also donate
your used sale goods for a spring rummage sale that will benefit the
library. If you have any toys, kids’ clean clothes, house wares, sports
equipment or collectibles, please call 593-1616. All proceeds will benefit
the library.
